FACILITY INFORMATION

 

WE HAVE GROWN!!!    At the end of 2010 we broke ground on our remodel/expansion.  At that time we were operating in a 28,000 square foot building.  As of today we are ready to begin 2012 in our completed 63,000 square foot facility.  Our building now features 2 gyms (Bock and Neal).  Activities in our gyms include youth and adult sports programs.  To name of few, we offer basketball, soccer and dodgeball.  Our Bock Gym also boasts courts for volleyball, tennis, pickleball and a walking track.  We are able to utilize both gyms for our many youth activities that include MY Nights, Dynamite Days Out and our summer camp program.

 

With the addition of the KC Summers Fitness Studio we are now able to offer even more group fitness classes.  New in 2012 is group cycling classes!  Pedal your way to good health or join us for yoga, ZUMBA® Fitness, Sweat and Praise, A.M. Core or one of our many other classes.

 

If a water workout is more your style, then visit our Lumpkin Family Pool.  The 6 lane 25 yard pool ranges from 3.5 to 5 feet in depth.  The water temperature is a comfortable 84 degrees and allows us to offer lap swim, aqua fitness classes, swim lessons, and SAMY Seals Swim Team.

 

The Sparks Wellness Center is a spacious 112×56 ft holding several cardio pieces including ellipticals, bikes, AMT’s, rowing machines and currently 13 treadmills.  You will also find approx. 30 pieces of strength equipment and a large free weight area.  To familiarize yourself with the Wellnes Center, we do offer a free Fitness Center orientation and to continue to strive for your ‘best health’ we do employ personal trainers.  To learn more about hiring a personal trainer or a free Wellness Center orientation, please stop by our Welcome Center for more details.

 

Other areas of interest in our facility include our Rural King Welcome Center.  This is where our friendly staff will  welcome you and provide you all the latest information for all the Mattoon YMCA programs.  Stop and sit in our lounging area while catching up with your work out buddies and enjoy a cup of coffee.  The Howell Adams Child Watch, which is available during our busiest times, has been painted with fun murals and will keep the kids busy with many pieces of play equipment and games.  Cost is $3 per family visit/2 hours max.
