Adult Sports

If you have not lost your desire to play in organized sports, the Mattoon Area Family YMCA may have just what you are looking for. A variety of opportunities are offered for both men and women. Below is a listing of upcoming registrations for adult sports along with a list of adults sports offered throughout the year. Upcoming sports

Rocking Chair Softball

This league consists of a 9 week regular season followed by a single elimination tournament.  Games are played at the Round House Complex.  The Y will provide each team with the t-shirts at the beginning of the season.  This is a 40 or older league but each team is allowed two players between the ages of 35-39.

Ages 40+

Program Dates:  June 5-Aug 14, 2017

Early registration: April 3-April 23

Early registration fees:  $20 Y members/ $40 non-members

Regular registration:  April 24-May 21

Regular registration:  $30 Y members/$50 non-members

 

Adult Co-ed Volleyball

Seven consecutive weeks of summer volleyball inside the Y.  Join us on Wednesday evenings for this league which will end with a single elimination tournament.  Game referees will be provided by the Y.

Ages: 16+

Program Dates:  July 12- Sept 13

Early registration: May 15-June 9

Early registration fees:  $20 Y members/ $40 non-members

Regular registration:  June 10-July 7

Regular registration:  $30 Y members/$50 non-members

 

Indoor Tennis

Keep your game sharp and enjoy the fresh air by participating in our outdoor tennis league.  Tennis matches are played at Lytle Park tennis courts in Mattoon.  Partner arrangements are random and different each week.  Games will be held on Monday evenings with the first match at 6:30pm.

Ages:  16+

Two sessions

Session 1-  April 24-June 5 (registration closes April 21)

Session 2-  June 26- Aug 7

Session 2 registration dates:  May 15-June 23

Fees:  $15 Y members/$25 non-members

 

3 on 3 Basketball

This is a half-court league that consists of a 7 week regular season followed by a single elimination tournament.  Games are played on Thursday nights.  Registration is done as individuals, but you may be asked for your team name upon registration.

Ages: 16+

Program dates:  July 6-August 8

Early registration:  May 15-June 5

Regular registration:  June 6-June 27

Early registration fees:  $20 Y members/$40 non-members

Regular registration fees:  $30 Y members/$50 non-members

Ongoing Sports:

Pickleball

Pickleball is fun and full of new friends.  Played inside Bock Gym Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings- 9am to 11am.  Members can join the fun for free while non-members may pay a Pickleball Pass of $4 per visit.

Early Riser Basketball

This league has been active for over 30 years.  Jump start your day with some healthy competition on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 6am to 7:30am.  There are no referees and players are responsible for calling fouls.  This league is free to our Y members; non-members must pay a guest pass.

Age:  16+

Indoor Tennis

The nets are up on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am to 11am.  This group is always looking for a few new players.  If you would like to play some enjoyable tennis, visit with our Y staff for more details.  Free to our Y members; non-members will pay for a Tennis Pass.
