STRIDE is a fun running program for boys in grades 3 through 5. Boys have the opportunity to express their thoughts and opinions about various life topics in a safe, encouraging environment that helps expand their character while building their running endurance to complete a 5K or 3.1 mile event.
Over the course of 10 weeks, trained volunteer coaches will meet with the boys twice a week, for 75 minutes. They will weave important topics and discussion into fun games and running activities. All shapes, sizes, and abilities are celebrated and welcome.
Our fall 2017 season begins the week of September 11 and ends the week of November 13, 2017. The program will culminate with the Girls on the Run 5K on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The $100 fee includes 20 lessons, healthy snacks, t-shirt, celebration 5k, and an end of the season celebration. Scholarship is available to families in need.
Registration for the Fall 2017 season has closed. Please inquire back about our 2018 season.
BECOME A COACH
STRIDE is run almost exclusively by volunteers, being a coach is a fun and easy way to change lives! Each site requires 3-5 volunteer coaches. We provide all the required training and coaching supplies. You DO NOT need to be a runner to be a coach. We welcome both men and women who have the time, energy, and willingness to make a difference.
