Teens benefit from weight training when it’s done safely! Youth Free Weight Training at the Y strengthens families by providing opportunities to exercise together in a safe environment. This program teaches proper safety and form with free weights. During the two-session course, a Certified Personal Trainer will discuss:

  • Major muscle groups
  • Basic free weight exercises
  • Proper lifting form and technique
  • Safety and etiquette in the Wellness Center

Students must complete written and practical exams. An adult must attend both sessions with the registered youth. This is a required course for youth ages 11-13 who wish to use free weights in the Wellness Center. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
